I feel like before I REALLY get into this I need to say that yeah, this probably will get a little “ranty,” but I also feel like this is not talked about NEAR enough for just how important this tip really is for growing your Instagram!
I do think that as someone who is personally still growing their Instagram account, I can say this is probably THE most important tip or trick you could ever put to use to growing most social media sites, click-baity title aside.
So what is it, you ask?

ENGAGING WITH YOUR FOLLOWERS!
It seems so simple doesn’t it? But really how often DO you actually engage with your followers? Because if you are one of those Instagram accounts that never reply back to comments, never reply to your DMs, and vote on polls or answer questions in other people’s stories, then you are never going to grow to your full potential.
Think about this for a minute and it’ll make total sense! You love it when people interact with YOU, why wouldn’t you want to interact with them? Especially the people that are always commenting or always engaging in your stories, show them some love back! Like their comments and reply, watch and interact with their stories and comment on their posts. For one, commenting on other people’s posts get your username out there more AND, as a bonus, it shows Instagram that your account is active and taking in content, so in favor Instagram will show your content to more people!
It’s all about the algorithm, and making Instagram happy. Instagram has recently let out a few new story and DM features, so it just shows that they are favoring those and want people to interact within them. So replying back to every single DM in a genuine way will for one, keep those people sticking around and continuing to engage with you and two, showing Instagram that your account is active and keeping people on the app more!
TLDR; Recap
Engage with everyone! I know this can get harder the more followers you get but try your absolute hardest! That means replying to comments, liking their posts, and viewing and engaging on their stories and DMs.
